I agree, because the clients will develop an opinion of your company based on even the littlest things. I would never want my brand on something that I don’t stand behind, even if it isn’t my product, if that makes sense. Unfortunately, these items often look cheap because they are, since this is an area that many companies do not want to spend a lot of money in.

If you want your gift to represent your company image/brand then select a product that does just that you don’t have to spend a lot. If you have expensive taste then narrow your target and buy for your top clients. Or, consider tiering your gifts. Maybe spend $25 each on the most important clients, another tier @ $15 then maybe prospective clients $5.00 each. Believe it or not you can find a really nice laser engraved pen for $ 5.00 that looks like a $25 pen. Call and explain what you would like to do, your budget and numbers. They’ll help you design a gifting program just right for your branding needs in the marketplace.
